About

Bridging social work, human security, and evidence-based policy to improve the wellbeing of veterans and vulnerable populations.

Biography

I am a social researcher and public-service leader with dual master's degrees in Human Security and Social Welfare from the University of Dhaka. My work sits at the intersection of mental health, social protection, and human security — combining frontline operational leadership with mixed-methods research.

As a Director (Commanding Officer) in the Bangladesh Ansar & Village Defence Party, I lead operational planning, large-scale training, and community-development initiatives. Alongside this, I conduct and publish peer-reviewed research on depression, eco-anxiety, food insecurity, and mental health across Bangladeshi communities.

My ambition is to pursue a PhD focused on veteran-related research — mental health, social wellbeing, and reintegration into civilian life — and to return to Bangladesh to strengthen veteran support systems and evidence-based social policy.

Academic Goal

My academic goal is to pursue a PhD in Australia focusing on veteran-related research, particularly mental health, social wellbeing, reintegration into civilian life, and the support needs of military and paramilitary veterans. Building on my academic background in social work and human security, I aim to develop advanced methodological and analytical expertise to critically examine the challenges veterans face during and after their transition to civilian life and to evaluate the effectiveness of existing social support and protection systems. Through doctoral study, I hope to contribute to rigorous, evidence-based research that can inform policies and programs supporting veterans and their families. After completing my PhD, I intend to return to Bangladesh and apply the knowledge and research expertise gained in Australia to strengthen veteran support systems, social policies, and reintegration programs.
